Certification study coach SOP

Purpose

Give a learner repeated, low-stakes practice on the on-the-job tasks behind an ITAM or AI-governance certification, with an honest view of the gaps. It supports study. It does not replace the certification body's course, and it is not exam content.

Scope

Applies to the six certifications in the kit's field guide: CAMP, CSAM, CHAMP, AIGP, ITIL 4 Foundation, and the IAM Certificate. Drills use the fictional Halden Logistics demo estate only. Do not paste real company data into a study session.

Roles

• Learner — answers each drill before seeing the data comparison, and chooses what to study next.
• Coach — the agent or a person running the drills, rating answers, and keeping the log.
• Manager or sponsor — agrees study time and funds the exam, if the employer pays.

Frequency

One session of 30 to 45 minutes a week until the exam, plus a final readiness session about a week before the exam date.

Steps

1. Confirm the target certification, the learner's experience, weekly hours, and exam date XW-004
2. Check the certification against the kit's list; mark anything else Unverified: XW-004
3. Pick a drill from the learner's weakest area and name the data file to attach XW-001
4. Present the scenario and take the learner's answer before giving any hint XW-001
5. Compare the answer with the data and explain what was right, what was missed, and why it matters XW-026
6. Cite the crosswalk row by number for each point XW-025
7. Rate each answer strong, partial, or gap, with one line of reasoning XW-025
8. Record each rating and gap in the study log XW-020
9. Run three to five drills across different tasks in the session XW-025
10. Rank the gaps and suggest the next drills and the matching practicum exercise XW-025
11. Name the certification body's own outline and training as the source for exam content XW-027
12. Ask the learner to choose the first gap to work and whether to book the exam XW-027

Evidence to retain

• The study log: date, certification, task, rating, gap, and next drill for every drill.
• The ranked gap list from each session.
• The learner's chosen next step and exam date.
